At the time of writing and posting this, which is 22nd April 2025, I am only taking on new pupils for automatic driving lessons. This is due to the continued high demand for these from people of all ages, from 17 years old and upwards, even to octogenarians.
My availability for regular automatic lessons is difficult to judge as it will depend upon the progress of, test availability for, and success on test, of current pupils. My diary is usually fully booked for the next six weeks or so.
For motorway, refresher lessons and similar shorter term requirements, it should be possible to find lesson slots sooner. However, for any requirement, please still contact me, and if I can find space I will, this will depend upon your location and own availability
From the detailed statistics I have kept, since November 2019, my overall pass rate (tests passed out of tests taken) is 77%. This compares against the national average pass rate for the same period of 48%, and for the Worcester test centre 51% (source DVSA).
During this period I have taught 83 pupils, of which 62, that is, 75% have passed first time, which again compares favourably against the national average for first time passes of 48% for a similar period (source DVSA)
Of the remaining 21 pupils, 17 passed at the second attempt, with just 4 needing a third attempt. The test is of course quite subjective, almost literally anything can happen on the day, with test day nerves being a major factor in a minority of pupils being unsuccessful.
Along with the basic skills need to drive, and experience of driving in a variety of circumstances and conditions, working on anxiety and nerves is an integral part of driving lessons with Jeff’s Driver Training, and a major factor in achieving test success.
Whilst most pupils have regular weekly 2 hour lessons, there are occasions when, particularly in the lead up to their test, a semi intensive course can be extremely effective, especially when anxiety and nerves are likely to be a factor.
Whilst my diary rarely allows the time to offer intensive or semi intensive courses, recently I have collaborated with another extremely good local automatic driving instructor who has been able to give several of my longer term pupils a final intensive push to test success.
Joy has an identical pass rate to my own at 77%. Joy’s Driving School can be found here on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=joy%27s%20driving%20school
Joy has 22 years of experience as an ADI, including providing intensive courses.
The cost of living, and running a driving school, continues to increase. Having not increased lesson prices since January 2024, it is now necessary for Jeff’s Driver Training do so for any new pupils, prices remain fixed for existing pupils.
Given the pass rates described above, these new prices still represent extremely good value for money for a quality professional service. Driving tuition might be found cheaper elsewhere, but it is about results, which mean the overall cost is very likely to be less.
It should also be remembered that it is not just about achieving test success; it is about driving safely for life, which is what I aim to train pupils for at Jeff’s Driver Training. This is the ultimate result, one for which it is worth paying a little extra.
Thank you to everyone in the local community for your continued support. I will continue to try and respond to all enquiries and to do so as soon as possible. I apologise for any delay in doing so, and if I am unable to help, but if so I will try to find someone for you who can.
